03.29.2011: Daikaiju Discussion Godzilla vs. Megalon

Surviving. It’s all about surviving, which is exactly what we did this month because we watched Megalon – and then we talked about it. Ok, it wasn’t that bad, but seriously, we had a lot of fun watching this movie and I was joined by Cindy, Martin, T’Igor and Jeff. The episode is online and available here.

For some insane reason, I decided that I was going to be completely respectable for this showing and try (very hard) to find nothing but good things to say about the film. I’ll let you decide how that went over because I don’t really know what to say about it other than “Megalon… it is what it is.” I don’t know if anyone even reads these anymore, so here’s what spewed forth from the Kaijucast jukebox this month…

DAIKAIJU DISCUSSION:

Korea steps into the fray this next month with the 1967 Korean Kaiju film, Yonggary! Make sure you watch the version from the 60s and not the remake. I know this movie is available (according to my search results, it is available on Netflix), so if you already have it or can find it on DVD, I’d love to hear your take on it. This will be my first time seeing the film, so I’m going in blind and I have no idea if this is an amazing or terrible kaiju flick.
